I Married a Witch (1942, René Clair) - Delightful romantic comedy about witch Veronica Lake’s ancestor cursing Fredric March’s family during the Salem Witch Trials but then Lake falling in love with March in the present. Great vehicle for Lake. March is good too but he’s just along for the ride. Fine support from Robert Benchley and Cecil Kellaway. Some wonderful photography from Ted Tetzlaff and excellent special effects. The plotting ends up feeling a little false, but the stars’ charisma carries it. DVD, Blu-ray, Streaming.
